Overview
Grocery Gateway is an online grocery store which is owned by Longo's groceries in Canada. This project was our first industry school project in Humber College at User Experience Design Program and the whole process is conducted in 2 weeks. Due to the pandemic in all over the world, our project is conducted remotely.
The Problem Definition
Identify the improvements for both existing and prospective customers by observing an onboarding and shopping experience for new users
Methods
We wanted to find out if we can observe any improvements while new customers are onboarding to Grocery Gateway online services from their application in their mobile phone. Due to Covid-19 pandemic, we observed online grocery shopping experience on one new user. The methods we have used are user observations and 1:1 interviews.
Focus
Our focus was depicting the simple flow diagram of task flow in a Grocery Gateway onboarding experience. The user is given the task to buy one item from ‘Fresh fruit and vegetables’ and one item from ‘Weekly Specials’ and Order if the order is less than $50 through Grocery Gateway mobile application. The task is observed, and the task and user flow is mapped out.

Observations
There were two icons for selecting the Menu.
For Weekly Specials, it would be better if there were a filter in the weekly specials because it was hard to find what you need with special price.
